Over the years, people have asked me hundreds of times what the best Law of Attraction books are. It’s one of the most common questions I get, both from new clients and from people who’ve been practicing for a while but want to go deeper. And I get it. The right book at the right time can completely change how you see the world.
I’ve read more Law of Attraction and personal development books than I can count. Some were okay. Some were forgettable. And a handful genuinely changed the way I think and live. These are the ones I recommend to my coaching clients, and the ones I’m recommending to you.
The Best Law of Attraction Books for Beginners
1. The Secret by Rhonda Byrne
You can’t talk about Law of Attraction books without starting here. The Secret introduced millions of people to the concept that your thoughts create your reality. It’s an easy read, it’s inspiring, and it gives you a solid foundation for understanding how the Law of Attraction works. This is where a lot of my clients started before they came to me for coaching, and it’s still one of the best entry points into this subject.
I actually studied under one of the contributors to The Secret, which is where a lot of my own understanding was deepened beyond what most books teach.
2. Ask and It Is Given by Esther and Jerry Hicks
If The Secret is the introduction, Ask and It Is Given is the instruction manual. This book dives deeper into how your emotions work as a guidance system and gives you over 20 processes for shifting your vibration. The Emotional Guidance Scale alone is worth the price of the book. I reference it in my coaching sessions regularly.
3. The Power of Your Subconscious Mind by Joseph Murphy
This one was originally published in 1963 and it still holds up. Murphy explains in clear, practical terms how your subconscious mind shapes your experiences and how you can reprogram it to work in your favor. If you’re someone who wants to understand the “why” behind manifestation from a more psychological angle, start here.
Law of Attraction Books for Deepening Your Practice
4. Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
Written in 1937, this book has influenced more successful people than probably any other personal development book in history. Hill studied over 500 of the most successful people of his era and identified the common principles behind their achievements. While it focuses on wealth, the principles (desire, faith, autosuggestion, persistence) apply to manifesting anything. I especially recommend this if you’re working on manifesting money.
5. The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle
This one isn’t technically a Law of Attraction book, but it’s incredibly relevant. Tolle’s teaching on present-moment awareness ties directly into manifestation because you can only create from the present. If your mind is constantly stuck in the past or anxious about the future, you’re not in a position to manifest effectively. This book helps you get centered.
6. You Are a Badass by Jen Sincero
Sincero writes the way a lot of people talk, and that makes this book really accessible. It covers self-doubt, money blocks, habits, and belief systems in a way that feels like a friend giving you a pep talk. If traditional Law of Attraction books feel too “woo-woo” for you, try this one. It’s straightforward and practical.
7. The Master Key System by Charles Haanel
This book was originally written in 1912 as a mail-order course. It’s dense and takes some focus to read, but the ideas in here are foundational. Haanel explains the connection between thought, concentration, and creation better than almost anyone. Fun fact: Bill Gates reportedly read this book while at Harvard. If you like depth and don’t mind taking your time with a book, this is a gem.
8. E-Squared by Pam Grout
This is a fun, hands-on book that gives you nine energy experiments to prove that the Law of Attraction is real. Instead of just reading about the theory, you actually test it in your own life. I love recommending this to skeptics because the experiments give you firsthand evidence. It’s also a quick, entertaining read.
Books by Life Coach David
I don’t usually put my own work at the top of a list because I think the authors above deserve that recognition. But I wrote my books specifically for people who want practical, no-nonsense guidance on applying the Law of Attraction in everyday life. If you’ve read the bigger names and want something more personal and hands-on, these might be exactly what you need.
9. Vibratize Your Life!
This book is about keeping your vibration high so you naturally attract better experiences. I wrote it because I noticed that most of my clients understood the Law of Attraction in theory but struggled with staying in a positive vibration consistently. This book gives you practical strategies for maintaining high-vibe energy throughout your day, even when life gets stressful. Get it on Amazon.
10. Magnetize Your Life!
My second book covers new techniques for using the Law of Attraction that go beyond the basics. I wrote it for people who’ve been practicing for a while and want fresh approaches. It includes techniques I’ve developed through years of coaching and personal experience. Get it on Amazon.
11. Living The Law of Attraction
This is a 21-day self-guided program that walks you through applying the Law of Attraction step by step. If you like structure and want a clear plan to follow, this is the book for you. Each day builds on the previous one, and by the end of the 21 days, you’ll have a solid foundation and a set of habits that support manifestation. Get it here.
Honorable Mentions
The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D. Wattles (1910) is the book that inspired The Secret. It’s short, direct, and freely available since it’s in the public domain. Worth reading if you want to see where these ideas originated.
Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself by Dr. Joe Dispenza blends neuroscience with spirituality. It explains how your personality literally creates your personal reality and how to change it at the neurological level.
Creative Visualization by Shakti Gawain is one of the original guides on using mental imagery to create change. If visualization is your preferred manifestation technique, this book expands on it beautifully.
How to Get the Most Out of Law of Attraction Books
Reading is one thing. Applying is another. Here’s what I tell my clients:
Don’t just read. Practice. Every book on this list includes exercises, techniques, or principles you can apply. Pick one and actually do it for at least 21 days before moving on. Most people read a book, feel inspired for a few days, and then go back to their old patterns. That’s not the book’s fault.
Keep a journal alongside your reading. When something resonates, write it down. When you have an insight, capture it. A manifestation journal paired with good reading material creates powerful momentum.
Start with one book, not five. Don’t overwhelm yourself. Pick the one that speaks to where you are right now and give it your full attention. You can always read the others later.
Reread your favorites. The best books reveal new layers every time you read them. I’ve read Ask and It Is Given at least five times, and I still pick up something new each time.
