If you’ve spent any time studying the Law of Attraction, you’ve probably heard the phrase “raise your vibration.” But what does that actually mean, and more importantly, how do you actually do it? Because knowing you should feel better and knowing how to make that shift are two very different things.
I’ve been coaching people on the Law of Attraction for over 14 years, and raising your vibration is honestly the single most important skill I teach. It’s the foundation of everything else. When your vibration is high, manifestation happens more naturally, opportunities appear more frequently, and life just feels better. When it’s low, everything feels like a struggle. So let me show you 12 practical ways to raise your vibration that I’ve tested with my own life and with hundreds of clients.
What Does “Vibration” Mean?
Everything in the universe is made up of energy, and all energy vibrates at a certain frequency. Your thoughts and emotions vibrate too. Positive emotions like joy, love, gratitude, and excitement carry a high vibration. Negative emotions like fear, anger, jealousy, and worry carry a low vibration.
The Law of Attraction says that you attract experiences that match your vibration. So when you’re feeling good and operating at a high frequency, you attract more positive experiences. When you’re feeling bad, you attract more of the same. It’s that straightforward.
I wrote my book “Vibratize Your Life” specifically about this concept because I noticed it was the area where people needed the most help. Understanding the Law of Attraction is great, but if you can’t maintain a high vibration, you can’t put it to work consistently.
12 Simple Ways to Raise Your Vibration
1. Practice Gratitude Daily
I put this first because it’s the fastest way to shift your energy that I know of. When you genuinely focus on what you’re thankful for, your vibration rises almost immediately. It’s nearly impossible to feel grateful and negative at the same time. They can’t coexist.
Try this: every morning, write down 5 things you’re grateful for. Not generic things like “my family.” Get specific. “I’m grateful my son told me a joke this morning that made me laugh so hard I cried.” That level of specificity activates the feeling, and the feeling is what raises your vibration. I wrote more about this in my post on gratitude and manifestation.
2. Move Your Body
Exercise changes your biochemistry. It releases endorphins, reduces cortisol, and literally shifts your energy. You don’t need to run a marathon. Go for a walk. Do 20 minutes of yoga. Dance in your kitchen. The goal is to get your energy moving because stagnant energy creates a low vibration.
I’ve had clients who were stuck in a negative spiral, and the thing that broke them out of it wasn’t an affirmation or a visualization. It was going for a walk outside. Sometimes the simplest thing is the most effective.
3. Listen to Music That Makes You Feel Good
Music is a direct frequency. It can change your emotional state in seconds. Create a playlist of songs that make you feel happy, energized, or peaceful, and use it intentionally. When you wake up feeling off, put it on. When you need a midday reset, put it on. It works every time.
4. Spend Time in Nature
There’s a reason you feel different after spending an hour outside. Nature has its own high vibration, and when you’re in it, your body naturally starts to match it. Walk barefoot on grass. Sit by water. Hike through the woods. Even 15 minutes outside can reset your energy in a way that nothing else can.
5. Meditate (Even 5 Minutes Counts)
Meditation quiets the mental noise that keeps your vibration low. You don’t need to sit in silence for an hour. Set a timer for 5 minutes, close your eyes, and focus on your breathing. That’s it. The goal isn’t to stop thinking. It’s to create a gap between you and your thoughts so you can choose which ones to engage with.
6. Be Mindful of What You Consume
And I’m not just talking about food, although that matters too. Pay attention to what you’re consuming mentally. The news you watch, the social media you scroll, the conversations you have, the shows you binge. All of it affects your vibration. If you’re constantly absorbing negativity, drama, and fear, your vibration will reflect that.
I’m not saying bury your head in the sand. Just be intentional. Limit your intake of things that make you feel worse and increase your intake of things that make you feel better.
7. Surround Yourself With Positive People
You’ve heard the saying that you’re the average of the five people you spend the most time with. It’s true when it comes to vibration too. Negative, complaining, pessimistic people pull your energy down. Positive, supportive, growth-minded people lift it up. Choose your circle wisely.
If you don’t have many positive people around you right now, that’s okay. Start by reading books from people who inspire you, listening to uplifting podcasts, or working with a life coach who can hold that space for you until your circumstances shift.
8. Use Affirmations
Affirmations are positive statements you repeat to yourself to reprogram your thinking. They work because your subconscious mind accepts whatever you tell it repeatedly, as long as you back it up with emotion. “I am worthy of good things. I attract positive experiences. Everything is always working out for me.”
Say them out loud. Say them in the mirror if you can. Write them in your manifestation journal. The key is consistency and feeling. Don’t just recite them like a robot. Actually feel the truth in them as you say them.
9. Forgive and Release
Holding onto resentment, anger, or grudges is one of the heaviest vibration-lowering habits there is. I know it’s not easy. But forgiveness isn’t about letting the other person off the hook. It’s about freeing yourself from the weight of carrying it around.
When you forgive, you release that energy, and your vibration rises as a result. Some of the biggest breakthroughs I’ve seen in my coaching practice have come right after someone finally let go of something they’d been carrying for years.
10. Do Something Kind for Someone Else
Acts of kindness raise your vibration instantly. Pay for someone’s coffee. Send an encouraging text to a friend. Help a neighbor. Hold the door. These small acts generate positive energy that comes back to you. And they feel good in the moment, which is really the whole point.
11. Visualize Your Best Life
Take 5 to 10 minutes each day to close your eyes and picture your life the way you want it to be. See it in detail. Feel the emotions that come with it. This activates the same neural pathways as actually experiencing it, which means your brain starts to accept it as real. Visualization is one of the most powerful manifestation techniques out there, and it doubles as a vibration-raising practice.
12. Work With a Coach
I’m biased, but I’ve seen firsthand what happens when someone has dedicated support in maintaining their vibration. A coach helps you identify blind spots, stay accountable, and work through resistance patterns that you might not be able to see on your own. It’s the fastest way to create lasting change.
How to Tell if Your Vibration Is High
You’ll know your vibration is high when:
You feel generally optimistic and peaceful. Good things seem to happen more often. You notice synchronicities and “coincidences” regularly. People respond to you more positively. You feel creative and energized. Problems that used to bother you don’t hit as hard.
And you’ll know it’s low when everything feels heavy, you’re easily irritated, nothing seems to go right, and you feel disconnected from what you want. The good news is that it’s always within your power to shift. You’re never stuck in a low vibration permanently. You just need to reach for something that feels a little better, and then a little better than that.
Start Today
You don’t need to do all 12 things at once. Pick two or three that resonate with you and start there. Make them a daily habit. Over time, you’ll naturally add more as your vibration rises and you start craving more positive input.
